The Revolve Community Bike Shop, at 554 Central Avenue in Kansas City, KS, is taking applications to fill a need for one Part-time Bike Mechanic. The position will require a commitment of 15 to 20 hours a week to refurbish donated bicycles for the programs of this nonprofit bike shop. The Bike Mechanic will also assist in sales of refurbished bikes. The Bike Mechanic will promote the Earn-a-Bike Program to those in need of information. The person hired for this position will be considered an independent contractor, and will not be eligible for health benefits. Pay is $10/hr. The person selected for the position will report to the agency’s Executive Director and its Board of Directors and to the organization’s FT Bike Mechanic.
The Revolve Community Bike Shops act on the belief that the bicycle is the simple solution for healthy lifestyles, and affordable, earth-friendly transportation. With bike safety education being a major component of our programs, the person hired will be an ambassador of safe bike riding while at our Shops. The position is open until filled.

- Ability to refurbish bikes from all eras and levels of quality
- Ability to work professionally in a diverse, inner-city environment
- Fluent in Spanish
