Join BikeKC for the official unveiling of the new 2013 Kansas City bicycle facilities map.Refreshments will be provided by La Bodega and Boulevard Brewery and those who attend will be entered into a drawing for door prizes. BikeKC will discuss their 2013 programming as well. BikeKC is the city’s plan for a transportation network of on-street bicycle facilities.
The city of Kansas City has adopted this plan by ordinance. It consists of a 600 mile bicycling facilities network. This plan not only includes current streets, it also future streets as well. The plan will be implemented in several phases. The first phase, currently underway, includes 180 miles of signage for bicycle routes. The replacement of hazardous water inlets, storm drains, and utility covers are also included in phase 1.
