Those looking for something to do in the Show-Me State can head down to the STL area on Sunday for their choice of a criterium or GranFondo Ride. This weekend, STL hosts the Maple Wood Criterium and Lupus Wolf Ride Gran Fondo.
The Lupus WolfRide GranFondo will be held on Saturday and is a long-distance cycling event designed to raise awareness of Lupus and to raise funds to help improve the lives of those who suffer from the disease. With a start/finish in beautiful Columbia, IL, the routes are equivalent to the half ironman (56 miles) and full ironman distances (112 miles). This year we have added the Wolf Pup Route (21 miles). Held under a US Cycling permit and designed for recreational cyclists and racers alike, the WolfRide has been called the “best organized charity cycling event in the region”. Proceeds benefit the Lupus Foundation of America, Heartland Chapter. Event Site
The Maplewood Criterium will be held on Sunday. The course is just under a mile long and is located at the Sunnen Industrial Park in Maplewood.
