The city of Leawood, KS, is working to become more bicycle and pedestrian-friendly. To this end, they are implementing an Active Transportation Plan for both biking and walking. To kick off the plan, the city will be hosting a mini-expo on Monday. The expo will display examples of good practices and facilities that could be implemented in Leawood. Participants can also contribute ideas.
The kick-off will be held tomorrow, August 12th, at The Lodge at Ironwoods, located at 147th and Mission Road. The doors will open for the Mini-Expo at 5:30 p.m., with presentations and Q&A beginning at 6:30 p.m. ” RDG Planning and Design, consultants for the Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan, will make a kickoff presentation that will discuss the goals of the plan, the possibilities for active transportation in Leawood, and future events designed to involve all of us in creating a better city for walking and biking.”
