Historic Elmwood Cemetery
Kansas City’s first annual Elmwood Bike Rodeo will be held May 6th, 2023 in Kansas City’s historic Elmwood Cemetery. Elmwood Cemetery, which is almost 150 years old, is a beautiful, treed greenspace with elegant architecture and plenty of room to peacefully stroll through the grounds.
Bike Rodeo
The Elmwood Bike Rodeo is a community event that promotes bicycle safety and education for children and families. The rodeo will consist of a variety of activities such as bike inspections, helmet and bike fittings, and courses to ride their bikes and practice their handling skills. They will have inflatables set up for some inflatable fun and community partners will be onsite to offer information and resources such as legal resources, food, community health, and more. The event is free to participants and is organized by the Missouri Bicycle and Pedestrian Federation. They will also be giving a way up to 150 free bicycles to kids in need!
Educating Kids
The goal of the Elmwood Bike Rodeo is to promote cycling as a fun and healthy mode of transportation while also educating participants on how to ride safely and offering them a chance to learn about, and connect with, community organizations and services. The Elmwood Bike Rodeo is a fun and educational experience for the whole family.
