The opening of the 2014 road season has been a roller-coaster ride with the Kansas season opener, Spring Fling Criterium, drawing riders from around the region with near 60 degree temps in February. The following day, Missouri’s season opener saw temps dive down into the 20s for the start of the day’s racing.

Fast forward one week later and the region was pounded by another winter storm and arctic temperatures.

This weekend, temperatures are starting to mellow and Midwest racing will be

Missouri hosts two events this weekend with the Jamestown Spring Criterium on Saturday and the Frozen Waffles Training Race held in Springfield on Sunday.

On Saturday, Lawrence, Kansas will host the 3rd Spring Fling Criterium of the season with the opening race in the ALS Road Race Series taking place on Sunday.

Arkansas will also have two days of racing this weekend with the University of Arkansas Collegiate race weekend taking place on both Saturday and Sunday. Sunday, non-collegiate riders will have their opportunity to race the Scott Tucker Scott Spring Classic in Scott, Arkansas.

Oklahoma racers can take part in both a road race and criterium as part of the Salty and Tall Race for the March of Dimes in Mannford, OK. Dirt lovers can head to Bartlesville, OK for the Osage Hills Mountain Bike Race.
