On Saturday, February 9th, the Kansas Cycling Association will host a free Introductory C Officials Clinic. The KCA Official’s Clinic will be led by Amy Fear. Participants will receive rulebooks and basic instruction in road, track, cyclocross, and mountain bike officiating. This is a 3 hour course culminating in an open book test. Participants who receive at least 70% on the test will then be able to obtain a ‘C’ Officials License. The cost for the license is $35.00 which is then renewable each year for $60.00.
The clinic will be held at UBC (United Bioscience Corporation) located at 3822 Summit in Kansas City, MO. 64111. Parking is available in the back of the building off of 39th St. The clinic will begin at 9:00 AM. Lunch will be provided by KCA for all of you who pre-register.
KCA has a very special incentive program for officials to work or volunteer for events. You can earn the cost of the license (5 events) as well as bonus money (> 5 events) depending on the number of events you work or volunteer for. You will receive 1 incentive point for attending the clinic. There is a cyclocross race on February 10th, 2013 at Mission Farms Shopping Center in Leawood, KS. If you attend the race to be mentored in your new found skills, you will receive 1 incentive point toward your license fee.
