Another unseasonably warm weekend welcomed more than 100 riders at the 2012 Epic Holiday Cyclo-cross race in the Kansas City North-land. Dry conditions and a rough course consisting of hard-pack dirt, grass and even some brick sections made for a hard race. The men’s podium in the 1/2 race was taken by Shadd Smith, Garet Steinmetz, and Andrew Coe. Meanwhile, those riders who are determined to make cycling more painful than it already is took to the course in the single-speed category; Britton Kusiak took the top step of the podium with Wesley Boyce and Matthew Speer taking second and third.
Kansas Cyclo-cross will once again return to Topeka for on December 8th for the KS State CX Championships. After the race, stick around for a great fundraising after-party. The party is a benefit for the Topeka Community Cycle Project.
