Egyptian Scroll Predating Seth Wheeler’s TP Patent Opens up More Debate
We don’t usually post about non-cycling related topics. However, after seeing so many articles about Seth Wheeler’s 1891 toilet paper patent supposedly ending the debate about proper toilet paper roll placement, we just knew there had to be another side to the story.
We did a little research, digging through archives, ancient manuscripts, and plenty of dark corners in university libraries. After hours of exhausting work we found a reference to toilet paper roll placement that pre-dates Wheeler’s patent by about 2000 years.
The scroll clearly shows that the ancient Egyptians were placing the rolls with the flap towards the back.
While we are not experts, who can argue with a civilization that built the Pyramids.
