There are some great events taking place this weekend in the Midwest. Several state championship races will be held throughout the region. After several jam-packed weekends over the past month, there are fewer events on the calendar, but there is still plenty to take part in with time trials, road races, crits, and track racing in several states.

Kansas

The Sunflower Games Omnium will take place in the Topeka area this weekend. Racing begins Friday with a time trial followed by a criterium on Saturday and a road race on Sunday.

Missouri

The Penrose Park Points Race State Championship will occur on Saturday in Saint Louis at the Penrose Velodrome.

Oklahoma

is hosting the Oklahoma State Age Group Road Race Championships on Sunday in Bixby.

Illinois

The Great Egyptian Omnium will be held in southern Illinois. Riders will be treated to 3 stages over the course of the two-day event.

Willow Springs is hosting the Palos Meltdown, which serves as the Midwest Regional Mountain Bike XC Championship.

Friday is the start of the Prairie State Cycling Series, with three races over the course of the weekend and more races to be held through July 27th.
